Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's tennis team opened Hofstra Invitational play from the Tennis Courts on the campus of Hofstra University Friday afternoon.

Amir Albeg, Dominic Anderson and Alex Di Fruscia represented the Pride in the singles and doubles brackets. Albeg partnered with Fordham's Timotej Stofa in doubles play, while Anderson and Di Fruscia faced Othman Bezzaz and Ernesto Ruy from St. Joseph's.

Anderson won his first match in the main singles draw and will finish his second round match against Semen Agynskyy from St. John's on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.

Second day play at the Hofstra Invitational continues at 10 a.m. Saturday morning with main draw and consolation play.
