Hempstead, NY - Hofstra closed out the regular season with a 5-2 loss to Stony Brook Tuesday afternoon at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center.

The Pride will enter the Colonial Athletic Association Championship Thursday with a 10-16 record. The Seawolves are now 6-10 on the year.

After taking the doubles point, Stony Brook won four of the six singles flights. Michal Kaplan and Disha Yellayi had the only wins on the day for Hofstra. Kaplan posted a 5-7, 6-3, 10-3 win at third singles over Ester Chikvashvili. Yellayi downed Amanda Foo, 6-0, 7-5, at the sixth flight.

Hofstra will be the ninth seed in the CAA Championship and will face eighth-seeded Drexel in the first round at 10 a.m. Thursday morning at Elon.
