MBB: Hofstra Puts Five In Double-Figures In Rout Of Molloy

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra placed five players in double-figures and saw all 10 players score as the Pride posted a 107-72 victory over Molloy Thursday night at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. The 107 points were the most by a Hofstra team since scoring 118 against Wagner on January 28, 1972.

Hofstra (4-3), which snapped a three-game losing streak with the win, received a game-high 23 points from Justin Wright-Foreman. The Lions fell to 1-6 with their fourth consecutive loss and were led by Nick Corbett's 20 points.

Eli Pemberton poured in 19 points, while Matija Radovic had a season-high 16 points off the bench on 4-5 shooting from three-point range. Rokas Gustys tallied 14 points and matched his season-high with 15 rebounds. Hunter Sabety completed the Pride contingent in double-figures with 11 points. He also added six rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Pride raced out to a 14-4 lead in the first four minutes behind eight early points from Pemberton. The Pride built a 15-point advantage, 36-21, with 7:06 to go after a follow-up dunk from Sabety. Molloy would use an 8-2 run to cut its deficit to nine (38-29), before the Pride went on a 12-0 run to build the lead up to 21, 50-29, with just over a minute to play in the half. Hofstra would settle for a 51-32 halftime advantage.

Hofstra maintained a comfortable lead in the second half, leading by as many as 39 on a pair of occasions. The Lions smallest deficit in the final 20 minutes was 19, 58-39, with 15:47 remaining.

Curtis Jenkins added 17 points for Molloy, while Steven Torre added 15 points and a team-high 16 rebounds.

Hofstra is back in action next Wednesday, December 6, when it travels to Monmouth for a 7 p.m. tip-off. That game begins a string of seven games away from the Mack Sports Complex, including a "home" game against Manhattan at Adelphi (December 20) and a contest against Villanova at NYCB Live, Home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on December 22.

Notes:
-The Pride topped 100 points for the first time since a 105-64 win over Coppin State on December 10, 2014.
-Hofstra is now 2-0 all-time versus Molloy.
-Gustys' double-double was his fourth of the season and the 38th of his career.
-Hofstra held a 45-29 rebounding advantage, including a 17-7 edge on the offensive glass.
