Tulsa, OK - Hofstra University juniors Marcus Smith and Jan Leithner each lost their prequalifying consolation bracket matches Sunday as they completed their play at the 2017 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships Saturday at the University of Tulsa.

Leithner lost a tough match to Temple's Alberto Caceres Casas, falling in three sets. The Pride junior won the first set, 6-1, but then lost the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (8-5). Casas then posted a 6-1 win in the decisive third set to claim the match.  Smith lost in straight sets to Lamar's Benny Schweizer, 6-1 and 6-1.

Hofstra will now turn its attention to doubles play as the team of Niko Vulinovich and Coco Haener will be in action Tuesday in qualifying action.
