WTEN: Hofstra Cruises Past La Salle

Philadelphia, PA - Hofstra swept all six singles matches to post a 6-0 victory over host La Salle Saturday at the Belfield Courts. By mutual agreement, doubles matches were not contested since Hofstra had already clinched the match victory.

The Pride improved to 8-4 on the season while La Salle fell to 0-11.

The Explorers defaulted at fifth and sixth singles to give the Pride a 2-0 lead right off the bat. Sarah Catherine Herndon defeated Asha Anderson by scores of 6-0, 6-0 at third singles before Giulia Leone clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ashton Wentzel at the fourth flight. Michal Kaplan had a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jayla Smith at second singles, while
Sarah Bowen closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 1 flight.

Hofstra returns to action Sunday in a Colonial Athletic Association match at Drexel. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
