Hempstead, NY – Five Hofstra players scored in double-figures but Jaylen Adams tallied a game-high 31 points and Matt Mobley added 23 to lead the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure (6-2) to an 81-75 victory over the Pride (6-4) at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Hofstra while the Bonnies extended their winning run to five consecutive contests.

Hofstra junior Rokas Gustys tallied 20 points and nine rebounds while freshman Eli Pemberton added 15 points. Junior Ty Greer and senior Brian Bernardi each added 11 points while senior Deron Powers chipped in 10 points.

The first half was a period of runs with six lead changes and three tied scores. After the Bonnies jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first 90 seconds, the Pride would go on a 9-3 run over the next 1:41 to take their first lead of the contest at 9-8 on a Gustys lay-up at the 16:57 mark. Gustys had six of the Pride's first nine points.

After Bernardi gave the Pride their second lead on the game on a free throw at the 15:06 mark, St. Bonaventure, behind five points in the run by leading scorer Jaylen Adams, went on a 9-2 spurt to open up a 20-14 lead after Adams triple at the 12:22 mark. The Pride responded with a quick 8-0 run behind five points from Wright-Foreman and Bernardi's three-pointer giving Hofstra a 22-20 lead with 11:12 to play in the half.

Three minutes later, Pemberton would hit a long distance bomb to tie the contest at 27-all with 8:13 to play. The Bonnies opened up a small lead on to see the Pride close to within one at 33-32 on a Powers jumper with 5:43 remaining.

But St. Bonaventure went on a 15-4 run, including nine unanswered points in 2:20, to open up a 48-36 lead at the break. Adams tallied five in the run while Mobley and Andoh each chipped in four points. Adams tallied 15 points in the half for the Bonnies who outrebounded the Pride, 29-13 in the first 20 minutes. Hofstra did not roll over in the second half and went on an 18-6 run over the first 5:06 to tie the contest at 54 on a Pemberton free throw. Greer had seven points in the run while Gustys added six and Pemberton popped for five. After Powers tied the game at 56 again for Hofstra with two free throws, Mobley hit a lay-up for the Bonnies to regain the lead at 58-56. But the lead was short-lived as Robinson hit a three-pointer from the top to give the Pride a 59-58 advantage with 11:43 to play.

Four lead changes later, Hofstra was able to open up its biggest lead twice, the latest at 68-65 on a Gustys tip-in at the 6:44 mark.
