MBB: Hofstra Hosts Stony Brook In Battle Of Long Island On Tuesday

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will return to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on Tuesday when it hosts Stony Brook at 7 p.m. in the battle of Long Island. 

There will be FREE "Pride of Long Island" t-shirts for the first 1,000 fans in attendance. In addition, fans can get special $7 endzone tickets when using the code "PRIDE" at HofstraTickets.com.

Fans can purchase tickets by visiting HofstraTickets.com, where it is possible to print their tickets at home. In addition, fans can also call (516) HOF-TIXX or visit the Hofstra Athletics Box Office in the Mack Sports Complex for more ticket information. 
There will be Pride Productions live video/audio of the game with links available on this page or via the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com. The Pride Productions audio only broadcast can be heard via the portal, on the WRHU mobile app and on WRHU.org.

Hofstra is 6-5 this season and most recently fell to #6/#7 Kentucky on Sunday at the Barclays Center. Six different players average at least nine points for the Pride this season with freshman Eli Pemberton (14.3), senior Brian Bernardi (13.5) and senior Deron Powers (13.0) leading the way in double figures. Junior Rokas Gustys is nearly averaging a double-double with 13.0 rebounds per outing and 9.6 points. Powers has a team-best 49 assists this season. 

Powers led the way against the Wildcats as he had a team-high 18 points and added five assists and five rebounds. Gustys nearly had a double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds. 

Stony Brook brings a 3-6 record into Tuesday's encounter. They are coming off a narrow loss to Rutgers on Saturday. Lucas Woodhouse leads the team with 12.2 points per game and is also tops with 47 assists. Tyrell Sturdviant is the Seawolves top rebounder with 6.8 per game and is also second in scoring at 11.8 per game. 

Hofstra leads the all-time series with Stony Brook, 19-5. The series was renewed two years ago and the teams have split the meetings with Hofstra winning in 2014-15 and Stony Brook earning a victory last season. Prior to the 2014-15 season the team had not met since a 61-56 Hofstra victory during the 2008-09 campaign.
