MTEN: Hofstra Falls In Spring Opener

Oceanside, NY - Ari Richman and Niko Vulinovich won their respective singles matches for the Pride, but Bucknell earned four singles wins as well as the doubles point in a 5-2 victory Sunday night at Point Set Indoor Tennis.

Hofstra, which was playing its spring season opener, slips to 1-1 on the season with the loss. Bucknell improved to 3-1 with the win.

Richman, playing at second singles, won his fifth match of the season with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Bucknell's Bryan Adams. Vulinovich won for the fourth time in 2014-15 with a 6-3, 6-2 win at third singles over Octavio Canibe.

The Bison earned straight set wins at the other singles flights and swept all three doubles matches.

Hofstra is back in action Saturday afternoon at Lafayette. Match time in Easton, Pennsylvania is 2:30 p.m.
