Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Volleyball team fell in three sets to UNCW on Friday night.

Set scores were 25-22, 25-11 and 25-15 in favor of the Seahawks, who improved to 16-5 overall and 7-2 in Colonial Athletic Association play. Hofstra falls to 15-9 and 6-3 in league action.
The first set saw a tight stanza tied at 21 following a service ace from Klemm. UNCW retook the lead with two quick points before Hofstra got within one and 23-22. A pair of attack errors by the Pride would end the set, which featured five tie scores and two lead changes, and give UNCW the early advantage in the match.
UNCW dominated in the second and third set, including hitting at a .520 clip in the second stanza. In the third set neither team was able to muster much offense but UNCW held on as they held Hofstra to a negative attack percentage.
Katie McCullough posted 10 kills to lead the Seahawks, while Anna Moss had 11 blocks and Lindsay Hartmann picked up 15 digs.
Hofstra is back in action at home on Sunday when it hosts Charleston at 1 p.m. That match pits the two teams that met in the 2014 CAA Championship Match, which Hofstra won in five sets to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
NOTES- Hofstra is 23-5 all-time against UNCW. The Pride won this season's earlier match in Wilmington in five sets.
