Claudia Marin Samper scored twice and sophomore
Lauren Saltus recorded her second consecutive shutout to lead the Hofstra Pride to a 3-0 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the Northeastern Huskies at Dedham Field Friday evening.
Hofstra, which has won two consecutive games and 10 of their last 11 contests, improves to 12-4 on the season and 2-1 in CAA play. The 2015 season marks the 11th time in Pride Head Coach
Kathy De Angelis' 18-year tenure that Hofstra has recorded double-figure victories and the second consecutive 12-win season.

Northeastern (4-12, 1-3) had its only good scoring opportunity of the first half in the 16th minute when sophomore Kristin Abreu fired a shot from the middle of the circle that Pride goalie
Lauren Saltus had to kick away to keep the game scoreless. Saltus would finish with four saves in the contest to post her second straight CAA victory after a 9-0 blanking of Towson on October 11.

Hofstra got on the board at the 23:56 mark when Marin Samper deflected a shot by junior
Colby Hussong into the left corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead. It was Marin Samper's league-leading 16th goal of the season. The Pride finished the half outshooting the Huskies, 4-1 with Northeastern junior goalie Becky Garner making two saves in the first 35 minutes.
The Pride boosted the lead to 2-0 just 10:15 into the second half following a penalty corner. Marin Samper inserted the ball which was stopped by senior
Leigh Maxwell-Smith. Senior
Charlotte Loehr then passed the ball to her left to sophomore
Simca Schoen, who fired a high drag shot past Garner. It was Schoen's 11th goal of the season.
Hofstra added an insurance goal in the 52nd minute on a transition, 3-on-3 rush for the Pride with Marin Samper firing a shot the deflected off a Northeastern stick and into the goal for her second tally of the game and 17th of the season.
Simca Schoen was also help secure the shutout by making a big defensive save at the right post, off a shot by senior Vanessa Pryor, in the 67th minute.
The Pride outshot the Huskies, 14-9 in the game including 10-8 in the second half. Hofstra took four penalty corners to Northeaster's three.

Hofstra closes out its 2015 home schedule on Sunday, October 25 when the Pride host the Dragons of Drexel University at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium. Game time for the Senior Day contest is 1 p.m. Hofstra will recognize and honor its three graduating seniors, forward
