The teams played a tight first set with neither team able to take a strong advantage. The Terriers would get within two points, 23-21, but an attack error and a kill from freshman hitter Brianna Montgomery gave Hofstra the 25-21 win.

Hofstra would rally from a four-point deficit to take set two, 25-19. After St. Francis Brooklyn scored four unanswered points to take a 12-8 lead, Hofstra responded with a 9-2 spurt to take a 17-14 lead. Lopes da Silva did most of her damage in the second set, picking up five kills and two blocks.

The third set was another closely contested one with Hofstra pulling away late once again, outscoring the Terriers, 9-4, to close out the set for a 25-20 win. With the scored tied at 16, the Pride took the lead for good on a kill from Wills. Wills would add two more key points for the Pride, on a kill and a service ace, to give the Pride a 22-19 edge later in the set.

In their second match, versus Manhattan, Hofstra used a balanced offensive effort to pick up the win over the Jaspers. Wills had two kills in the opening rally and then added a service ace to give the Pride their largest lead of the set, 17-8.

The third set saw Manhattan take an early 4-1 lead behind kills from Anna Kitlar before the Pride rallied to tie the score at 10 on a kill from Burke. The Pride would take the lead for good, 12-11, on a service error and then held the Jaspers at bay for the rest of the match to take a 25-22 win.
