Hempstead, NY - Hofstra won for the fourth consecutive match, taking four singles matches and the doubles point in a 5-2 win over Marist Tuesday afternoon at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center.
Hofstra improved to 6-7 on the season, while Marist fell to 3-6.
Louise Lopez continued her strong play with a 6-1, 6-0 win at second singles over Callie Morlock. Carmen Pestano defeated Marielle Campbell at third singles, 6-3, 6-1. Giulia Leone picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Melissa Carlay at fourth singles, while Bianca Derrick notched a 6-2, 6-2, win over Nikki Rohan at fifth singles. Marist picked up wins at first and sixth singles, winning those matches in three sets.
All three Hofstra doubles teams won their matches with Sarah Bowen and Pestano earning an 8-4 win at first doubles over Karly Pang and Morlock. Lopez and Derrick defeated Carlay and Kaye Eastman, 8-2, at second doubles and Leone and Bianca Posa snagged a 8-3 win over Katie Seitz and Lisa Ventimiglia at third doubles.
