Hempstead, NY - Hofstra swept Manhattan by a score of 7-0 Sunday, winning all six singles matches in straight sets and taking the doubles point as well.

The Pride improved to 5-7 on the season with their third straight win. Manhattan slipped to 5-7 with the loss.

Sarah Bowen picked up a 6-0, 7-6 win over Brianna Turano at first singles. Louise Lopez won her first set, 6-0, over Gabriella Leon at second singles and led 3-0 in set two before Leon retired.

Carmen Pestano earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Caitlin Bricketto at third singles, while Giulia Leone posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Salua Pizano. Bianca Derrick won her match at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-1 over Alyssa Rosello, and Bianca Posa had a 6-4, 6-3 win over Catherine Clark.

In doubles action, Bowen and Pestano had a 8-4 win over Turano and Leon. Derrick and Lopez won, 8-2, over Bricketto and Pizano, while Leone and Posa had an 8-3 win over Rosello and Clark at third doubles.

Hofstra returns to action Tuesday afternoon versus Marist. Match time at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center is 3 p.m.
