Conway/Charleston, SC - The Hofstra Women's Tennis team dropped a pair of matches Wednesday in South Carolina, falling 4-0 to Coastal Carolina and 7-0 to College of Charleston.
The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team extended its win streak to four at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center with the abbreviated 4-0 win. Due to time constraints, the doubles point went uncontested and play between the Pride (2-5) and Chanticleers (12-2) began with singles play.
Libby Scott gave the Chants a 1-0 lead with a straight sets win at the first flight downing Sarah Bowen 6-4, 6-1. Marie Babayan gave Coastal its second point when she claimed a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 over Hofstra's Giulia Leone. Amanda Malatek blanked Bianca Derrick 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and freshman Mila Majtan took a 6-0, 6-2 decision over Bianca Posa at No. 6. The matches at second and third singles were unfinished.
In the match at College of Charleston, the Cougars won all six singles matches in straight sets and took the doubles point, winning all three matches.
