Conway, SC - Hofstra dropped a 7-0 decision to Coastal Carolina Wednesday afternoon at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
Coastal opened the match taking two of three doubles decisions for the first point of the match. Garik Yedigarian and Renan Samed paired up at No. 1 to down Hofstra's Ari Richman and Adrien Bailly, 8-2. Leo Christofides and Hunter Whalen followed up with an 8-3 victory at No. 3 over Matthew Gemmell and Leo Pires to clinch the point.
The Pride's Beau Wills and Joseph Erichsen won the No. 2 doubles match, edging Ted Nilsson and Jabor Al-Mutawa, 8-5.
The Chanticleers would sweep all six singles matches, though Richman and Wills put up strong opposition at first and third singles, respectively.
Richman downed Yedigarian in the first set, 7-6, before dropping the next two sets, 6-4 and 10-7. Wills beat Al-Mutawa in the first set at No. 3, 6-2, but then dropped the next two sets, 6-4 and 10-7.
