MTEN: Hendler and Vulinovich Claim Doubles Title

Stony Brook, NY - Freshman Niko Vulinovich and sophomoreRicky Hendler won the Flight B doubles championship and Hofstra also crowned two consolation bracket champions as play concluded at the sixth annual Stony Brook Invitational.

Vulinovich and Hendler defeated Luca Kaic and Carl Jedlinski of NJIT in the semifinals, 8-2, Saturday morning and then came right back to down Quinnipiac's Luke Roser and Willem Van Biezen, 8-3, in the finals.

Hendler also won the consolation bracket at C singles by defeating Hari Rohan of Stony Brook in the semifinals, 8-7 (5), and then Jedlinski by a score of 8-5 in the finals.

Senior Ari Richman won the A singles consolation bracket with a semifinal win over Ben Foran of Stevens, 8-0, and then an 8-4 win over Eric Ambrosio of Quinnipiac in the finals.

Sophomore Stuart MacLeod reached the finals of the D singles consolation bracket with an 8-5 win over Josh Palmer of Connecticut before dropping an 8-2 decision to Ryan Foster of Fairleigh Dickinson.

The Pride has a bit of a layoff before returning to action on Friday, September 19 when the team hosts the Hofstra Invitational.
