Hempstead, NY – Hofstra Head Cross Country Coach Peter Alfano today announced the appointment of Ms. Tracy Koch as the Pride's assistant men's and women's cross country coach. 

Koch is a 2011 graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA where she was a member of the cross country and track teams from 2006 through 2011. Koch served as team captain from 2008 through 2011 and was a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship qualifier in 2008.

A recipient of the Savannah College of Art and Design Runner of the Year award in 2009, Koch was also the recipient of the Coaches Award in 2010 and 2011. She was also named a Sun Conference Track and Field Champions of Character in 2011. Koch also served as an advertising model for SCAD Athletics throughout her college career.

Koch comes to Hofstra from the private sector where she served as a graphic production assistant at Out the Window Advertising of Flagstaff, AZ since February 2013. She spent the last year in Colorado and Arizona pursuing her two passions in the design and running world. Koch is currently working at Runners Edge in Farmingdale, NY and running for the Runners Edge Team.

Koch, the 2006 John P. Hordan Most Outstanding Senior Athlete Award recipient at Sanford H. Calhoun High School in Merrick, NY, served as a volunteer girls track coach at Calhoun during the 2011-2012 academic year. She has also served as a volunteer for the Long Island Marathon from 2002 through 2006, the Tybee Marathon in Savannah from 2006 through 2011 and the USATF Summer Series from 2010 through 2012.
