Hamden, CT -Quinnipiac won the doubles point and then took four of six singles matches in a 5-2 women's tennis win over the Pride at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
Quinnipiac upped its record to 10-8, while Hofstra fell to 7-8 on the year.
Rachel Cantor and Sarah Viebrock began the day with an 8-3 win at first doubles over the Pride's Sarah Bowen and Sonia Tsay. Michelle Dassa and Jacqueline Raynor then won at the second flight, 8-1, over Malissa Gilanchi and Bianca Derrick to take the doubles point. Louise Lopez and Paige Polizois did win at third doubles, also by an 8-1 score.
The Bobcats won in straight sets in the first three singles matches as Cantor defeated Bowen, 6-3, 6-2, at first singles; Raynor topped Tsay, 6-0, 6-2, at the second flight and Viebrock defeated Gilanchi, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 3.
The Pride picked up a wins at fourth and sixth singles as Lopez downed Mary Chupa, 6-3, 7-5, at No. 4 and Polizois won a wild three-set match over Erin Suvar, 3-6, 6-1, 12-10.
The match was Hofstra's regular season finale as the Pride travel to Williamsburg, VA, for the Colonial Athletic Association Championships this weekend.
