Dover, DE - Hofstra has four golfers in the top 10 and holds a two-stroke lead after round one of the Delaware State University Hornet Invitational at the Maple Dale Country Club. Hofstra totaled a 326 (+38) and leads second place Towson by two strokes.
Individually, Jenna Masnyk leads the Pride in a tie for third place at 79 (+7). Mariel Curran is in sixth place at 81 (+9), while Erica Barnes is seventh at 82 (+10). Cynthia Cheng shot an 84 (+12) and is in 10th place. Amanda Vogel is 13th after round one after an 86 (+14).
Towson's Larissa Spiess holds the individual lead at 75 (+3), while teammate Emma Hjarne is second at 78 (+6).
The four-team field also includes Quinnipiac (330) and Delaware State (338).
Hofstra will be looking for its first tournament win since April 2011 when it won the Monmouth Hawk Invitational and the Hofstra Triangle in back-to-back weeks.
