Hartford, CT - Sonia Tsay defeated Valeria Couto Cuervo 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles as Hofstra won five of six singles points and the doubles point en route to a 6-1 victory over Bryant Saturday evening.

Hofstra improves to 6-2 on the season with the win, while Bryant falls to 6-7.

Elena Ivanova won her #1 singles match, 6-3, 6-2, over Claudia Hidalgo. Lauren Clifton posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Stephanie Smyers at third singles, while Christie Gattelaro won 6-4, 6-4 over May Vickers at fourth singles. Brooke Sailer completed the singles scoring with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Irma Rodriguez Lockwood at sixth singles.

Ivanova and Sailer took the win at first doubles, 8-4, over Hidalgo and Lucy Bird, while Gattelaro and Clifton posted an 8-2 win over Smyers and Vickers at second doubles. Malissa Gilanchi and Tsay completed the doubles sweep with an 8-1 win over Cuervo and Katharine Francazio.

Hofstra returns to action tomorrow when it hosts Delaware at 1 p.m. at the Hofstra University Outdoor Tennis Center.
