WOMEN DEFEAT QUEENS; MEN FALL

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Tennis teams split their matches against Queens College (NY) on Thursday as the women earned a close 4-3 decision, while the men dropped a 7-0 match.

After dropping the doubles point, Hofstra rallied in the match by winning four of the six singles matches.

Hofstra got a pair of straight set wins at first and second singles from Zoe Taylor and Lauren Clifton before Paige Polizois clinched the match with a three-set victory at sixth singles.

On the men's side Hofstra got its closest match from Jason Sinkoff at fifth singles as he dropped a 6-3, 7-6 match.

The win improved the women's team's spring record to 3-2, while the men slip to 0-6.

The men will face Monmouth on the road on Sunday, while the women are in action at Towson on Sunday as well.
