Philadelphia, PA - Freshman Chris Fouch scored 19 of his career high 29 points in the first half as Drexel built a big lead and captured a 75-62 win over Hofstra on Saturday.

With the win, Drexel improves to 11-10 overall and 6-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association. Hofstra drops its fifth straight game to fall to 9-12 overall and 2-7 in league play.

The Pride was led by senior forward Miklos Szabo (Szeghalom, Hungary), who had 14 points on 6-12 shooting from the floor. Junior guard Charles Jenkins (Queens, NY) added 13 points for the Pride. Junior guard Gerald Colds (15 points) and Jamie Harris (14 points) were also in double figures for Drexel.

Fouch scored 19 points in the final 11 minutes of the first half as Drexel built a 41-23 halftime lead. Hofstra went without a field goal for nearly eight minutes as Szabo's lay-up made the score 17-11 with 9:37 to go, and the Pride did not score from the field again until Szabo's put-back off a missed foul shot with 1:45 left made the score 36-20.

The Dragons built their lead up to 63-33 with 12:51 to go, before freshman guard Yves Jules (Brooklyn, NY) stopped the bleeding with seven straight points. A three-pointer from freshman guard Chaz Williams (Brooklyn, NY) made the score 68-51 with 5:20 to go, but that was as close as the Pride could come until it ended the game with a 7-0 run in the last 29 seconds to make the final score 75-62.

Fouch finished 10-15 from the floor and 6-11 from three-point territory on his way to 29 points. The Dragons shot 48.1 percent as a team, compared to 35.4 percent for the Pride.

Hofstra will next be in action when it returns home to face UNC Wilmington on Wendesday at 7 p.m., beginning a stretch of four home games in the next five for the Pride.
