Looking for their first win of the spring season, the Hofstra Men's Tennis team dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to Bucknell on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops Hofstra's record to 3-4-1 this season.
The Bison would win all three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead in the match before the two teams split the six singles matches to account for the final score. Hofstra would earn victories in the first three singles flights, including identical 6-2, 6-4 wins at second and third singles Stian Tvedt and Tytus Stempniewicz, respectively.
Bucknell would clinch the match with wins at fourth, fifth and sixth singles as a win from Mark Malloy at fifth singles proved to be the difference.
Hofstra returns to action tomorrow when they travel to Saint Peter's for a 1:30 p.m. match.
