Sophomore Stian Tzedt dropped a tough three-set match at third singles and teamed with senior Tytus Stempniewicz for a close 8-6 loss at first doubles in Hofstra's season-opening 7-0 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday afternoon in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Stempniewicz fell 6-2, 6-1 at first singles, while junior Eric Gladstone dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision in his collegiate action on Tuesday.

In the other doubles match competed, senior Nenad Radakovic and sophomore Matt Wacks teamed up for an 8-4 loss at second doubles.

Hofstra returns to action this weekend when they take part in the Hampton Roads Tournament in Norfolk, Virginia.
