The Hofstra Women's Tennis team moved its win streak to three matches as they defeated Quinnipiac, 5-2, and Fairfield, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon. The two wins now even Hofstra's record at 7-7 this season.
In the Quinnipiac match, Hofstra got an 8-0 shutout win at second doubles from Christie Gattelaro and Stacey Kent before earning the doubles point courtesy of a win at first doubles from Lauren Clifton and Zoe Taylor. The Pride would clinch the match with wins at first, third and fourth singles before Valerie McDonald earned a hard-fought 6-7 (5), 6-2, 10-8 win at sixth singles for Hofstra's fifth point of the match.
Against the Stags, Hofstra was never threatened as they won every completed match, dropping just the sixth singles match in which Kristina Middlemiss retired. Kent picked up an easy 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles and Clifton delivered a 6-0, 6-2 rout at second singles to lead Hofstra to the convincing win.
Hofstra returns to action on Tuesday, April 1 when they host Long Island at 3 p.m.
