Senior Nenad Radakovic earned a 6-4, 6-3 win at first singles and teamed with Matt Wacks for an 8-2 victory at second doubles to lead the Hofstra Men's Tennis team to an 5-2 win over Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon at the Holy Cross Tennis Courts.
Hofstra moves its record to 2-2-1 this season with the win, while Holy Cross falls to 0-2 in 2008-09.
The second doubles team of Radakovic and Wacks defeated John Burke and Dan Phelan before senior Tytus Stempniewicz and sophomore Stian Tvedt allowed the Pride to earn the doubles point with an 8-6 win over Jay DeSanto and Matt Wierzel at first doubles.
Needing only three singles wins to capture the match, Hofstra would earn victories at the first four flights to get to five team points. Radakovic defeated Wierzel, with Tvedt having the most dominating effort of the day in his 6-1, 6-1 win over John Burke at second singles.
Hofstra has just one match remaining on its fall schedule as they will travel to Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) George Mason on October 26 for a 12:15 p.m. match.
