Mother Nature proved to be the victor on Thursday afternoon as the Hofstra Men's Tennis team tied Hartford, 2-2, in a match that was halted due to rain.  Hofstra, which was seeking its first dual victory of the 2008-09 campaign, was leading the three unfinished singles matches when the contest was called due to weather.

Hofstra's record moves to 0-1-1 this season, while Hartford is now 0-2-1 this year.

Despite having to forfeit the third doubles match due to an incomplete lineup, Hofstra was able to pick up the doubles point as the duo of Nenad Radakovic and Matt Wacks at second doubles won by the score of 8-2 before Tytus Stempniewicz and Stian Tvedt finished off the doubles matches with a 9-7 win at first doubles.

The two teams split the two finished singles matches as the Pride won at fourth singles, while the Hawks earned a win at fifth singles.  Hartford would also get a point from the sixth singles match where they earned a forfeit.

The first three singles matches would go unfinished due to rain.  Radakovic was one game away from finishing off his opponent at first singles, while Stempniewicz needed just four more games to put Hofstra over the top.

Hofstra returns to action on Friday when they take on Boston University at 3 p.m.
