PRIDE WOMEN PLACE NINTH AT THE DISNEY CLASSIC

Sophomore Abby Pullen placed 11th to lead the Hofstra women's cross country team to a ninth place finish, at the 2007 Disney Cross Country Classic at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex Saturday.

 

Pullen, from Augusta, ME, clocked a 5K time of 18:22 to finish 11th. Her time also tied teammate Mary Sullivan's 2005 time that ranks fourth on the school's all-time list. Sullivan, a junior, was 63rd in a time of 19:43 while junior Cat Brew was 65th in 19:46. Senior Amanda Edell placed 74th in 19:54 while freshman Michele Grieco was 87th in 20:03. Other non-scoring runners included Sarah Skiold-Hanlin, who placed 90th in 20:07, and freshman Riti Dhillon who posted a 20:54 time to place 143rd. As a team, the Hofstra women placed ninth out of 44 teams with 282 points.

 

The Hofstra cross country teams will return to action next Saturday, October 13 when they compete in the University at Albany Invitational.
