PRIDE TO HAVE THREE GAMES TELEVISED IN 2004

8/7/2004 12:00:00 PM

The Hofstra University football team will have three games televised this season, with the possibility of more being added this month, Pride Director of Athletics Harry Royle announced this week. Hofstra will have its season opener against the University at Albany on Thursday night, September 2 and the regular season finale at Massachusetts on November 20th televised on Fox Sports New York, as well as an Atlantic 10 Football Network Game against the University of Richmond on October 30th at Noon. Carl Reuter and Hofstra's all-time reception leader Steve Jackson will call the action on Fox Sports New York.

The Atlantic 10 Football Conference will once again enjoy extensive coverage as every institution in the A-10 will appear on television in 2004, which marks the return of the A-10 Television Network for three broadcasts.

The award-winning A-10 Television Network, which has received three Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards from the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences, begins its schedule on Oct. 2 with 2003 Atlantic 10 co-champion Delaware hosting Maine in a rematch of last season's thrilling overtime contest won by the Blue Hens.

Additional games include first-year head coach Dave Clawson's Richmond Spiders visiting Hofstra on Oct. 30 and James Madison entertaining William & Mary on Nov. 13 in a critical South Division match-up of in-state rivals. Bob Picozzi and former Delaware and NFL quarterback Scott Brunner return as play-by-

play and color analyst, respectively.

CN8, which extends from Maryland to Maine and has a subscribing audience of approximately six million, will carry 10 contests involving Conference members this season. In addition, CSTV, the first college sports network, will televise the battle of last season's A-10 champions on Sept. 25 when Delaware visits Massachusetts. CSTV is available to more than 20 million homes across the country on cable and satellite.
