Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University junior wide receiver Aaron Weaver (Freeport, NY) has been named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 22.

Weaver concluded his 2009 season this past Saturday against Massachusetts by recording a career-best day. He tallied 15 receptions for 191 yards and a touchdown. His 5-yard scoring catch in the first quarter gave the Pride an early 7-0 lead as Hofstra went on for the 52-38 CAA victory over Massachusetts. Weaver topped his previous bests of nine catches and 132 yards set against Richmond in 2008, and fell just one reception short of tying the single game school record of 16 set by Devale Ellis against UMass in 2004.

The Baldwin High School graduate led the Pride in receiving again in 2009, finishing with 63 catches for a career-high 797 yards and four touchdowns. Weaver will enter his final season in 2010 with 135 career receptions, ranking 11th on the all-time Hofstra list, for 1,416 yards, which ranks 16th, and eight touchdowns.
