Hofstra University Head Football Coach Joe Gardi today announced the appointments of two new members of his 2004 Pride coaching staff and the promotion of two current staff members.

Gardi announced the appointment of Damian Wroblewski as Offensive Line Coach and Dennis Mikula as Offensive Assistant and the promotion of Special Teams Coach Adam Brown to Defensive line coach and Running Backs Coach Carlton Goff to full-time status.

Wroblewski comes to Hofstra after two seasons as Tackles/Tight Ends Coach and Special Teams Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, the Quakers won back-to-back Ivy League titles and posted a 19-1 record over the two seasons. In addition to his coaching duties, Wroblewski was responsible for the defensive scout team, all aspects of special teams, and video breakdown and editing. He was also responsible for recruiting in nine states including Texas, Minnesota, Indiana, Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Prior to his tenure at Penn, Wroblewski served as an assistant coach at Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island from 1999 to 2002. He started out as Recruiting Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach for the Bulldogs and was promoted to Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach by 2001. The Westerly, Rhode Island native is a 1999 graduate of Lafayette College with a degree in history.

Mikula comes to Hofstra from Bayley-Ellard High School in Madison, New Jersey where he has been the Head Football Coach since 2002, and the Director of Athletics since 2003. The 2000 Montclair State University graduate with a degree in communication studies began his coaching career serving as a volunteer assistant football and basketball coach at Clifton High School in 1995-96. The following year, Mikula served as Offensive Coordinator at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, New Jersey for four seasons, and became the Head Baseball Coach of Clifton's Post 347 American Legion team for three seasons.

In 2000 Mikula became the Head Football Coach at Don Bosco Technical High School in Paterson, New Jersey and recorded a 14-6 record over the next two seasons. In 2002 he moved to Bayley-Ellard High School and assumed Assistant Director of Athletics duties in addition to his football responsibilities. In 2002 Bayley-Ellard were New Jersey State semifinalists in the Parochial Group I division, and were State finalists in 2003 with an 8-3 record.

Adam Brown is in his fourth season on the Hofstra Football staff in 2004. He served as Special Teams Coach in 2002 and 2003. In 2001 he served as a defensive line and special teams assistant. In 2001 the Hofstra punt return unit ranked third in I-AA, averaging 17.6 yards per return. In 2002 the Pride punt unit ranked 21st in I-AA.

A Hofstra alumnus, Brown concluded his six-year playing career for the Pride in 2000. A team captain as a senior, Brown played in every Hofstra game for the first time in his career and was fourth on the defensive line with 40 tackles and one sack. In 1999 Brown played in nine regular season games and recorded 16 total tackles at defensive tackle. In 1997 and 1998 while playing middle linebacker, he had his seasons cut short by injury. In 1997 he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the third game of the season. A year later Brown suffered a season-ending knee injury in the second game of the year. In 1996 as a sophomore, he saw extensive action in seven games on special teams and as a backup linebacker and tallied 12 tackles and one tackle for a loss. As a freshman in 1995 Brown played on special teams and posted five tackles on the season.

A native of Deer Park, New York, Brown earned his bachelor's in psychology from Hofstra in 1999 and a master's in physical education in 2001. Adam and his wife Tara reside in Lindenhurst, New York.

Carlton Goff is in his 10th year of college coaching and his second season as Running Backs Coach at Hofstra University. Goff joined the Hofstra staff after serving as a Tight Ends Assistant Coach at East Carolina University in 2001 and 2002.

A three-year starter, a two-time All-Midwest Athletic Conference running back and the seventh all-time leading rusher at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, Goff began his college coaching career in 1995 as Running Backs Coach at North Park University in Chicago, Illinois. He served in that capacity until 2000 when he was promoted to Offensive Coordinator.

During that time, he also served the college as Assistant Director of Admissions, a position he held for five years. His role in admissions included minority recruitment and counselor coordinator before briefly serving as interim Director of Admissions. In 2001 Goff left North Park for East Carolina where he also assisted with the special teams and scout teams in addition to his tight end duties.

Active on the camp and clinic circuit, Goff has lectured and instructed at several camps in the Midwest since 1998. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from Illinois College and a master's degree in teaching from East Carolina. Carlton and his wife, Lynn, reside in East Meadow, New York.
