Stony Brook University swept all three doubles matches and then followed that up with wins at the first three singles flights enroute to a 5-2 victory over Hofstra University in non-conference men's tennis action on Saturday afternoon at the Stony Brook Invitational.

With the season-opening loss, Hofstra is now 0-1, while Stony Brook evens its record at 2-2 on the year.

The best doubles match came at third doubles as Jean-Francois Robitaille and Jon Gambery earned an 8-5 decision over Hofstra's duo of Matt Schor and Luka Djordjevic.

In singles, the Seawolves Jan Krejci, ranked 100th in the nation, defeated Nikola Djordjevic 6-3, 6-2 before Michael Crooks and Tal Meir both earned straight set victories over their Hofstra opponents to clinch the match for Stony Brook.  Hofstra would get on the board at fourth and fifth singles as Schor earned a hard-dought three set victory over Robitaille (4-6, 7-6, 6-1) and Luka Djordjevic had no problem with James Carpenter, cruising to a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Hofstra returns to action on Sunday at the Stony Brook Invitational when they will take on Wagner and Sacred Heart.
