Hofstra University junior wide receiver Marques Colston has been named the Atlantic 10 Football Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for his play against Liberty University on Saturday, November 22, the league announced Sunday.
Colston had a career day in Saturday's 49-42 overtime loss at Liberty. The 6'5 receiver from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Susquehanna Township High School broke former Flying Dutchmen star and current New York Jets standout Wayne Chrebet's 1994 record of 245 receiving yards in a game, achieved against Delaware, with a seven catch, 267-yard performance against the Flames of Liberty.
Colston also had three touchdown catches of 91 yards in the first quarter, and 16 and 59 yards in the furious fourth quarter as Hofstra battled back from a 15-point deficit with 6:27 to play to send the game into overtime.
Colston ends the season with 51 catches for 910 yards and seven touchdowns. He now has 112 receptions for 1,859 yards and 13 touchdowns in his three year Hofstra career. The 1,859 yards rank eighth all-time on the Hofstra career receiving yards list.
