Bryan Graff was named the senior associate director of athletics at Hofstra University in January 2019. In his role, he oversees development and fundraising efforts for the athletics department. He is serves as a committee member of the Colonel E. David Woycik, Jr. (Ret) Esq. Pride Leadership Academy, and is also team administrator for the men's basketball, baseball, and women's lacrosse teams.Â
During his tenure, the Hofstra Athletics Pride Club has seen substantial growth in annual giving, funds raised, and membership. Hofstra's corporate sponsorship program has also seen an increase since his arrival. In addition, Graff has also overseen many successful fundraising events, including the annual Hofstra Pride Hall of Fame Induction and Golf Outing.Â
In his first full academic year (2019-20), the Hofstra Athletics Pride Club saw an increase of 25% in annual giving and a 30% increase in funds raised. The number of Pride Club members also increased, from 858 in 2017-18 to 1,075 in 2018-19. Graff also oversaw several successful fundraising events, including the Hofstra Pride Golf Classic and Hall of Fame Induction.Â

Graff came to Hofstra by way of Stony Brook University where he served as the associate director of athletics for development since August 2016. At Stony Brook, Graff was a member of the senior management team and was responsible for the solicitation and cultivation of major gifts as well as the planning and execution of the department’s annual campaign for athletics. The campaign, Seawolves United, raised over $1.8 million in the 2018 fiscal year, a 33% increase from the previous year. In addition, he was a front-line fundraiser for athletics and was responsible for securing major gifts as part of a $360-million University capital campaign.

Prior to Stony Brook, Graff spent four years at the University of New Haven as the senior associate director of athletics for external and business affairs, where he was responsible for the corporate sponsorship program, the annual campaign for athletics, budget development, fiscal management, team travel and the equipment room. He also increased New Haven’s corporate sponsorship portfolio to include numerous national brands.

Before New Haven, Graff spent a bulk of his professional career at Dowling College as the associate athletic director for external affairs for nearly eight years. He also held numerous positions at St. John’s University in the early 2000’s, including the director of marketing, advancement coordinator for institutional advancement and athletics, and assistant director of compliance.

Graff earned a bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook in May 2002 and went on to receive his MBA in executive management from St. John’s in 2004. Â
Graff and his wife, Debra, have two children: son, Chase, and daughter, Charlotte. The family resides in Sayville, New York.Â
