Kevin DesLauriers

Kevin DesLauriers joined the Hofstra Athletics staff prior to the 2021-22 academic year as the department’s senior associate director of athletics for finance and administration. He came to Hofstra after serving as the senior associate director of athletics for operations at Molloy University since 2016 and head volleyball coach since 2017.

In his role at Hofstra, DesLauriers oversees operating budgets and expenditures for the department and also serves as team administrator for the Pride softball and tennis teams. 
 
At Molloy, DesLauriers was responsible for overseeing and implementing game-day management, team practice and game schedules recording and management, facility and venue management, apparel and equipment ordering and maintenance, transportation scheduling, and team travel and meals, as well as all budgeting related to these areas. He also was the team administrator for Molloy’s men’s and women’s lacrosse, softball, and women’s bowling programs. 

In addition, he served as head women's volleyball coach since 2017 and led the program to two East Coast Conference championships 2017 and 2019 and a second-place finish in 2018. In that same three year span the team earned their first ever berth to the NCAA Division II East Region tournament as the two seed in 2017, advancing to the second round of the tournament, followed by two more NCAA Division II East Region qualifications in 2018 and 2019. The 2019 run saw the team earn a berth to the NCAA Division II National Tournament in Denver Colorado by winning the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship as the one-seed.  At the conclusion of his 2017 debut as the Lions head coach, DesLauriers was named the NCAA Division II AVCA National Coach of the Year as well as the East Region Coach of the Year and the ECC Coach of the Year. He was also named ECC Coach of the Year in 2019.

DesLauriers previously served as head volleyball coach and assistant athletic director for operations at Dowling College from 2013 to 2016. The Golden Lions made two NCAA Division II East Region Tournament appearances under his tutelage, advancing to the NCAA Division II East Region Quarterfinals in 2013 and the second round of the NCAA Division II East Region Championship in 2014. He was the 2014 ECC Coach of the Year.
 
He began his volleyball coaching career in 1993 as an assistant men’s coach at Southampton College and served in that role for six seasons (1993-1999). DesLauriers was also the head coach for the women’s program at Southampton for five seasons (1994-1999). He then went on to spend 13 seasons (2000-2012) at Stony Brook University as the assistant women’s volleyball coach.
 
A 1993 magna cum laude graduate of Southampton with a degree in computer mathematics, DesLauriers was a volleyball student-athlete. DesLauriers completed his master’s degree at Molloy in 2021 with an MBA in management and leadership.
