John Considine is in his 15th year as an assistant equipment manager for the Hofstra Athletics Department in 2024-25. He handles the equipment and uniform needs for the Pride men’s and women’s lacrosse teams as well as the men’s and women’s golf squads.
AÂ Hofstra graduate, Considine came to Hofstra Athletics after two years in the Hofstra Physical Plant Department. He returned to Hofstra after retiring as a firefighter for the New York City Fire Department (FDNY).
A 1985 graduate of Hofstra with a degree in health and physical education, Considine was a four-year starter for the Pride men’s lacrosse team from 1981 to 1985, playing on defense, at midfield and as a face-off specialist. He was also a three-sport athlete, competing in football, lacrosse and wrestling, and earning all-conference honors on the gridiron and in lacrosse at Farmingdale High School.
John and his wife, Lorri, have five children, Emily, Cole, Tessa, Bridget, and John Jude. The Considine family resides in Rockville Centre, New York.
