Anthony Sobotker

Anthony Sobotker is in his first season as an assistant coach at Hofstra, joining the staff in December 2024. He joined the Pride from Binghamton University, where he wrestled and coached.
 
A North Babylon, New York native, Sobotker joined the Binghamton coaching staff in 2023 after earning his degree in human development. He helped the Bearcats to a 9-4 dual record last season with four wrestlers advancing to the NCAA Championship. In early season competition in 2024-25, Binghamton had a 1-1 record. 

Sobotker competed for the Bearcats from 2020 to 2023. He placed seventh at 133 pounds at the 2021 EIWA Championships. The following season he placed seventh at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and would rank among the national leaders with 11 of his 15 wins by fall. 

Prior to his three years at Binghamton, Sobotker wrestled at Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York. He went 61-9 in that time, winning the 2020 NJCAA Wrestling Eastern A District Championship and earning Honorable Mention All-America accolades.
 
Sobotker was a standout at North Babylon High School with 168 wins during his scholastic career. A two-time New York State placewinner, Sobotker finished second as a senior and third as a junior. He was a Newsday All-Long Island Second Team selection in 2018, a four-time League V finalist, and a two-time league champion. Sobotker won the Suffolk County Rohan Murphy Inspirational Wrestler of the Year award as a junior.
 
Sobotker is pursuing his master’s degree in public administration at Binghamton and is slated to graduate in May 2025.Â
