Alexis Friedman joined the athletic communications staff at Hofstra University as the new director of creative content in July 2023. Friedman is responsible for overseeing all creative content, social media, graphic design, and videos produced by the Office of Athletic Communications. In addition, she will serve as the primary contact for the men's and women's cross country and track, men's and women's golf, and men's and women's tennis teams.Â
Friedman joined the Hofstra staff after graduating from Hofstra's Lawrence Herbert School of Communication with a bachelor's in journalism and minor in psychology in May 2023. During her undergraduate career at Hofstra, Friedman continually photographed more than half of Hofstra's 21 teams, while focusing on advancing the men's soccer program's social media presence through engaging photography, graphic, and video content.Â
The Oceanside, California, native served as the editor-in-chief of The Hofstra Chronicle and is an award winning photographer for the paper. A photo she captured of men's soccer goalkeeper Wessel Speel with a firework exploding above him placed first in the Society of Professional Journalists Region I Mark of Excellence Awards and won third place in the professional category of the 2023 Press Club of Long Island Awards.Â
