Ashley Christy came to Hofstra in October 2016 after serving as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Appalachian State, designing training programs for men’s and women’s tennis and golf. She also assisted with the school’s women’s basketball, softball, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and field and cheerleading teams.

Previously, she worked as a strength and conditioning intern at University of Texas at Austin, implementing training programs for men’s cheerleading and assisting with athletes that competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics, and as an intern at Georgia Tech.

Christy is also a decorated athlete herself, playing four years of softball at Georgia State and earning National Fastpitch Coaches Association South All-Region Third-Team and First-Team All-Sun Belt honors in 2015. She was also a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District pick and a four-time NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete.

Christy received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Georgia State in 2015 and her master's degree in exercise science - strength and conditioning from Appalachian State in 2017.Â
Christy is SCCC, RSCC, CSCS. USAW-1 certified.Â
