Matthew Ragovin was named the head women's golf coach at Hofstra University in September 2023. Ragovin joined the Pride after spending the past year as the interim head women's golf coach, and assistant men's golf coach at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.Â
Ragovin joined the staff at Washington and Lee in September 2022, and focused on recruiting student-athletes and planning daily practices, tournaments, team building, and player development techniques. Under his tutelage, both the women's team and men's team placed 9th at nationals and broke multiple program records. The women's golf team were conference champions, while the men's program were conference runners-up.
Prior to his stint at Washington and Lee, Ragovin spent over four years as the assistant women's golf coach at University at Albany, where he helped the program become Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Champions and earn an NCAA Division I Regional bid. Ragovin spearheaded the fundraiser for the UAlbany golf simulator, that was completely funded through private donations.Â
Prior to coaching at UAlbany, Ragovin served as a graduate assistant coach at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. He began coaching golf as an assistant coach at Washington and Lee University in 2014, where he returned to in 2022, before joining the Pride.Â
In 2013 Ragovin earned a degree in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in the administration of coaching, business, and psychology from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.Â
