John Jordan

John Jordan, a former assistant coach for the Pride Men’s Golf team, was named the head coach of the Hofstra Women’s Golf program on July 12, 2016. Jordan returned to Hofstra after spending the spring 2016 season as the head men’s golf coach at Nassau Community College.

During his one season at Nassau CC, Jordan led the Lions to a 7-0 record and a Region XV championship. He coached First Team All-American and Regional Player of the Year Chris Lambrou to a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA Division III National Championship. For his efforts, Jordan was named the Region XV Coach of the Year.

Prior to his stint at Nassau CC, Jordan spent three and a half years as a volunteer assistant with the Hofstra Men’s Golf team under Coach Joe Elliott from September 2012 to March 2016. 

In addition to his duties at Hofstra, Jordan also serves as a coach at the Golf Channel Academy at Bethpage State Park Golf Course. He is also a certified K-Vest instructor. 

A 1987 graduate of Massachusetts, Jordan was a two-year member of the men’s lacrosse team and an All-New England selection as a defender for the Minutemen. Prior to attending Massachusetts, he was a two-year member of the lacrosse team at Nassau CC, winning a pair of Junior College National Championships. Jordan was also a member of the National Championship and Brogden World Cup-winning Long Island club lacrosse team.

Jordan, who also has a career in finance, began his career on Wall Street in June 1987. He worked in a variety of positions at four different firms until March 2005 when he started his own company, Trinity Capital, LLC, which he continues to operate today.

A participant in many local amateur golf tournaments, Jordan was the medalist for the PGA Player’s Ability Test. He resides in Garden City, New York, with his wife, Tracy, and four daughters – Paige, Gwen, Lauren and Noelle.
