Diego Ibarra joined the Hofstra softball staff in the fall of 2016.
In his first season with the Pride, he helped the team back to the CAA Championship, with Hofstra entering the tournament as the No. 2 seed. Three players earned All-CAA postseason awards as the team finished 27-23.
Ibarra has experience in both baseball and softball, most recently serving as the junior varisty baseball coach at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey. Previously, Ibarra had spent nearly four years as the head junior varsity softball coach at Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Township, New Jersey, while also working as the director of player development and head softball coach with the 18U travel team at Akadema Elite Softball.
With Akadema Elite Softball, Ibarra was responsible for developing players and coaches, while also spearheading the team’s social media campaigns.
In addition, Ibarra owns D1 MGMT, a design and marketing company in Emerson, New Jersey. The company offers assistance to small businesses, non-profits and educational institutions. Ibarra graduated from Fairfield in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management.
