Bob Tirado joined the Hofstra University Athletic Training staff in September 2016 and works directly with the Pride Volleyball and Softball programs.
He came to Hofstra after nearly 10 years as an assistant athletic trainer at LIU-Post in Brookville, New York. During his tenure with the Pioneers, Tirado worked with the football, men’s basketball and softball programs.
Prior to working at LIUÂ Post, Tirado was an assistant trainer for the San Jose Sabercats of the Arena Football League during the 2005-06 season. He served in the same role at Nassau Community College in 2003-04.
Tirado earned his undergraduate degree in physical education from West Virginia University in 1998 and his master’s degree in athletic training from LIU-Brooklyn in 2001. While pursuing his master’s degree, Tirado served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the LIU-Post campus.
A member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, Tirado also holds New York State and athletic trainer clinical instructor certification. He also is an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer.
Tirado resides in West Islip, New York, with his wife, Lori, and their son, Zachary.Â
