Alexandra Burns joins the Hofstra softball staff as the Director of Softball Operations beginning in January 2026.

Burns was the Director of Operations for the New York Rise from May 2024 through December of that same year. With the Rise, Burns directed day-to-day operations for the organization, including game-day planning, facility management, and coordinating team travel. She also managed relationships between the team and the league, as well as sponsors and external partners, and she developed and managed budgets for operations, logistics, and events.

In addition to her time with the Rise, Burns brings a wealth of experience from the financial sector as a client service associate with Morgan Stanley since January 2025. She served as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring proper account maintenance and service excellence. Additionally, Burns was a wealth management intern with Morgan Stanley from February 2024 until December of that year.
 
A native of Baldwin, New York, Burns is a double graduate of Molloy College, receiving her bachelor’s degree in business management before earning her MBA in marketing with a healthcare administration post-baccalaureate certificate. She played for Cassidy-Lyke and the Lions for six seasons from 2019 until 2024, appearing in 210 career games with 208 starts and recording 212 hits in 659 at-bats for a career .322 batting average with 134 RBIs. Burns was a two-time All-ECC First Team selection in 2022 and 2024, a second team honoree in 2023, and she was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year in 2019.
