David Reinharz

David Reinharz, a December 2019 graduate of Hobart College, joined the Hofstra University tennis staff as an assistant coach in February 2020. Reinharz will assist with both the Pride men and women's tennis programs.

Reinharz played two years for the Statesmen, was a team captain, and helped the team to a No. 33 national ranking on the NCAA Division III level. He was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete at Hobart and won 10 singles matches over his two seasons. Reinharz also earned All-Academic Liberty League and was a member of the Dean's List. 

An accomplished student, Reinharz earned several prestigious academic awards at Hobart including the Hobart Heritage Scholar honors, the William F Scandling '49 Trustee Scholarship, and the Benjamin Hale Academic Award for excellence in the humanities, natural sciences, or social sciences. He was also a member of Epsilon Alpha Kappa, the American Studies Honor Society, and was a board member of Hobart & William Smith Hillel.

Reinharz began his collegiate career at Brandeis University, where he was a member of the No. 20 ranked team in Division III. He was an ITA Scholar-Athlete and a All-Academic UAA selection at Brandeis, as well as a member of the Dean's List. 

While an undergraduate at Hobart, Reinharz served as a media research intern at the Tennis Channel from May 2019 to August 2019. He also was a sports agent intern at Topnotch Management from June 2017 to August 2017. From May 2018 to August 2018 Reinharz served as an assistant tennis professional at The Seawane Club in Hewlett Harbor, New York.

Reinharz, a native of Rockville Centre, New York, graduated with honors from Hobart with a degree in American studies. Â
