Former Hofstra standout Rebecca "Becky" Celorio is in her second year as the Pride's Assistant Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach in 2018-19.
Celorio, one of the all-time great cross country runners in Hofstra history, competed for the Pride from 2012 through 2015. During her Hofstra career, the Scotia, New York native led the Pride Women's Cross Country team in 23 of her 26 meets.
Celorio owns five of the top 25 5K times in school history including the school record of 17:42 set at the 2015 Brown University Rothenberg Run at Goodard State Park in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She also owns six of the top 25 6K times in Pride history including the second-best time, set at the 2015 Colonial Athletic Association Championships at Laurel Hill Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Her time of 21:21 was 10 seconds off the school mark set by Mary Sullivan in the 2005 CAA Championships. Celorio, who was also Hofstra team captain, also earned All-CAA honors as a senior by placing 11th in the conference championship.

Celorio, who graduated from Hofstra in May, 2016 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science, earned Provost's List and Dean's List academic accolades as well as being a Hofstra Presidential Scholarship recipient. She was named to the CAA Cross Country All-Academic Team as a junior and a senior, was a four-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Award recipient and received Hofstra's Nicholas Colleluori Unsung Hero Award as a senior.
Celorio was also a member of the Hofstra Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for three years and had extensive community service work including volunteering for the Rollins Thunder program for children with disabilities, Girls on the Run program and several charitable events with the Special Olympics, the CAA and with local elementary schools.
Since graduating from Hofstra, Celorio has served as a graduate-assistant cross country coach at Adelphi University, where she is completing course work on a master's degree in exercise physiology. She has also held positions as a student personal trainer and with speed and fitness performance centers.
