Sue Weber

#20 Sue Weber (Women’s Soccer)

Weber played for three seasons and led the Pride to its first-ever conference championships and NCAA Tournament berths in 2005 and 2007. She became the first player in program history to earn All-America honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in 2005, then earned the honor once again in 2007. As a senior, she led Hofstra to a school-record 18 wins, including a CAA championship win over VCU and a 1-0 win over Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Largely due to Weber's leadership on the defensive unit, Hofstra set school records in 2007 for most shutouts in a season with 12, and most consecutive shutouts with seven. She was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year in all three seasons at Hofstra and was twice named the Most Outstanding Player of the CAA Tournament. After finishing her Hofstra career, she went on to earn the Defensive Player of the Year Award in the 41-team W-League in her first professional season in 2008 and also played for the Boston Breakers of the Women's Pro Soccer league.
