Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Department of Athletics held its 2026 Hall of Fame Induction and Golf Outing on June 1 at The Seawane Club in Hewlett Harbor, New York. The event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the athletics program, and all proceeds benefit the student-athlete experience at Hofstra as we "Build Champions in Academics, Athletics, Community, and Life". As always, it was a special day for Hofstra athletics with outstanding support at both the golf outing and hall of fame induction ceremony.

In addition to the great day of golf, Hofstra celebrated the accomplishments and legacies of Ray Downey Sr. (Extraordinary Service to Hofstra Athletics), Roman Fleszar (Wrestling), Leah Galton (Women's Soccer), Noell Maerz (Football), Ken Rood (Men's Basketball), Courtney Walcott (Football), and Glenn Wilkinson (Lacrosse and Football) during the hall of fame induction.

"We always look forward to the Hofstra Athletics Golf Outing and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony," said Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. "Having the chance to interact and reconnect with alumni, friends, and supporters of our program on the golf course followed by honoring the tremendous contributions and accomplishments of our inductees makes for a special day."
 
In addition to the Hofstra Athletics Hall of Fame inductions and day of golf, the event also included raffle prizes, a silent auction, and golf competition awards.
