Newport, RI - The Hofstra women's tennis team was defeated by Rhode Island, 4-1, on Saturday night at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island. The Pride dropped to 1-1 with the loss, while Rhode Island moved to 3-1 on the season.
The Rams swept doubles play and continued to secure the win with No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 singles wins. At No. 2 singles,
Aida Oviedo defeated Grace Darcy 7-5 in the first set before retiring the match at 1-1 in the second set.
