Hempstead, NY -
Biggie Patterson had 20 points and the Hofstra men's basketball team jumped out to an incredible 26-point halftime lead en route to a 71-49 rout of Towson on Saturday afternoon before a raucous crowd of 3,525 on Winter Homecoming at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
The Hofstra backcourt duo of

Hofstra held a narrow 13-11 lead nearing the midway point of the first half before putting together a spectacular 25-5 run to open up a 38-16 lead following a basket from Davis. Edmead put the finishing touches on an unbelievable first half for the Pride as he drained a three-pointer with 50 seconds left in the half to push the lead to 26, 46-20, at the break.
Two free throws from Davis and another three-pointer from Edmead in the first two minutes of the second stanza pushed the lead to 31, 51-20. That was Hofstra's largest of the game.
The lead never got under 24 until the final minute as the Pride emptied the bench and didn't score for the final 3:53 after taking a 71-42 advantage.
